When you order, we collect your name, email, phone number, delivery address and what you ordered. When you create an account we also keep your email and a protected (hashed) version of your password. Authors may add a photo, a bio and an M-Pesa number for payments.
To take and deliver your orders, process M-Pesa payments, send you order emails, run your account, and pay authors for their sales.
We do not sell your personal information. It is shared only where needed to run the shop: Safaricom (M-Pesa payments), our email provider (Google Gmail, which sends our emails), and our website hosting provider. Author names, photos and bios are shown publicly on author pages. An author's M-Pesa number stays private.
We use only the essential cookies that keep you signed in and your cart working. We do not use advertising trackers. Our Contact page shows a Google Map, and Google may set its own cookies when the map loads.
We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting and legal reasons. You can ask us to delete your account.
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing shamisipress@gmail.com or messaging +254 758 140081 on WhatsApp.
Passwords are stored in protected form and we never see your M-Pesa PIN. No website can promise perfect security, but we take care to protect your information.
